Ingredients
Method
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook for 5–6 minutes, until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the beef broth, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, letting the liquid reduce slightly.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until everything is well coated. Drizzle with a little extra olive oil if needed for shine and moisture.
- Plate the pasta, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. Top with extra black pepper if desired and serve hot.
Notes
For an extra cheesy twist, stir in a handful of shredded mozzarella before serving. This dish also pairs well with a side of garlic bread or a crisp green salad.
